The Role of Biofeedback Treatment in Children with Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction

Objective: Lower urinary tract dysfunction is a wide clinical spectrum and according to the International Children’s Continence Society, lower contains overactive bladder, voiding postponement, underactive infrequent voiding, extraordinary daytime only frequency, vaginal reflux, bladder neck dysfunction, giggle incontinence. Biofeedback non-invasive therapy that can be applied easily aims activate relevant pelvic wall muscles for normal bowel functions. This study aimed evaluate efficacy of biofeedback treatment in children with dysfunction. Material Methods: Twenty-nine patients who were diagnosed did not respond standard included study. was these 8 weeks. Results: After animation treatment, symptoms improved 13 (44.8%), nighttime enuresis two (6.8%) patients. Although 5 constipation completely improved, there no improvement encopresis. There decrease but complete complaints six (20.7%). Mean incontinence symptom score which 16.19±7.69 before decreased 9.52±6.4 after statistically significant difference (p<0.001). Conclusion: It suggested considered as suitable alternative dysfunctional urination do treatment.
